ABOUT
Green Owl Art Therapy is an Art Psychotherapy & Psychoeducation service that believes everyone deserves access to high quality mental health interventions
Hi I'm Jen, I'm a HCPC Registered Art Psychotherapist, Psycho-educator and Director of Green Owl Art Therapy LTD.
A bit about me...
I qualified as an Art Therapist in 2014 and I have background in mental health rehabilitation support work dating back to 2008. I have provided private 1:1 and group Art Psychotherapy since completing my MA from my room in Northampton town centre.

Art Therapy is a psychological intervention which uses art making to aid with the therapeutic process. No art skills are needed as focus is on the process rather than the finished article.
Throughout my career, I have struggled with the fact that some of the most vulnerable people with mental health issues, often cannot afford to access a wide range of psychotherapeutic services.

Combining my experience and knowledge of Art Therapy, psychological theory & interventions and the application of these in context, I developed a model of delivery for "creative psychoeducation" groups.
Trialling the Creative Psychoeducation Art Therapy groups.
I have been running a weekly group at Bridge Substance Misuse Programme in Northampton since January 2022, with great results;

"Jen provides an Art Psychotherapy Service, which has enabled our members to express their thoughts and feelings through art in a relaxed safe environment, helping them to make sense of, at times, their chaotic lives."

"...feedback from our members who have participated is very positive.” Calming”.” Amazing, helps me understand myself and my mental health”. “I am beginning to understand my emotions, so that I can put into words how I feel”. These sessions have significantly impacted our members lives in a very positive way."

Development of Employee Well-being Course and Social Enterprise
Working with the University of Northampton's Changemaker Hub, GO Art Therapy is taking action to help people suffering with mental health issues in the community as well as pro-actively improving the emotional resilience of people who get the opportunity to be on one of GO's bespoke corporate well-being training packages.

The profits from this venture will fund free Art Therapy groups in the Northampton community, for people struggling with their mental health. This practical and creative intervention will be accessible and inclusive to all.
